For those of you who have used ceramic tile before but haven't considered it in a while, you won't believe the renaissance that has taken place in floor and wall tiles. Ceramic tile has been around for thousands of years, but its interior design and application possibilities have never been greater than they are right now. </div> <bR> <div> Ceramic tile is low maintenance. Unlike many other surfaces, ceramic tile does not burn, fade, fray, absorb odors, and is highly resistant to stain. Once a few maintenance basics are understood, you'll realize that it really is simple to keep ceramic tile looking great for years. If you are one of the many with little time or desire for household chores, tile's low maintenance benefit is a definite plus. </div> <bR> <div> <B>Laminate flooring</B> consist three of layers, the surface or decorative top, either a melamine or HPL (high pressure laminate), the carrier or core, and the balance layer or backing. This type of product is very similar to counter tops that have been around for years. The finishes on these floors are much more durable than the finishes currently found on wood floors today. They have the look of a wood floor and some of the manufacturers have even introduced a tile and or block that can be utilized in a custom design. The product is a<I> floating floor</I>, it is glued together in the tongues and grooves and is not glued directly to the slab. Floor preparation is usually less than with sheet vinyl or a glue down wood flooring installation. This product has a film or plastic sheeting that goes down first, a type of foam padding, then the product itself.
